OVAL BURMESE EXPERIMENTAL
The spark for this project came from a newspaper typeface I found during my research. I wanted to reimagine the traditional, round Burmese script using a strict, narrow oval shape. Moving away from classic perfect circles, I aimed for a modern, condensed look by enlarging the x-height, simplifying complex letters, and disconnecting vowels. As this is my very first type design project, I view it as an experimental prototype. It is still a work in progress that requires further refinement to balance the new aesthetic with functional legibility.
